Lantern Primary and Nursery

Aims to offer children a broad, rich, and engaging curriculum

Lantern Primary and Nursery aims to offer children a broad, rich, and engaging curriculum that inspires children and teaches them how to respect, care and persevere. The experiences offered are used to help prepare children for adult life in an ever-changing world. We recognise the value and importance of learning outside the classroom to enrich the curriculum and enhance the learning and development of our children.

We are committed to the broadest educational offering, which includes a successful and relevant enrichment programme that draws upon a wide range of adult skills offered through educational visits, visitors, and themed enrichment days.
Our curriculum offers opportunities to explore areas within our community, locally in Shropshire and further afield ensuring the children are immersed in and understand our world.

Health and safety is placed high on our list of priorities as we want our school community to be and feel safe. Our safeguarding procedures are rigorous, robust and effective, with staff and children all having a clear understanding of their responsibilities while out on educational visits. Our children are always praised for their behaviour and attitudes, and we are very proud of them.

When children are going on an educational experience, a letter is sent out to parents. Options of paying using instalments, or in full, are offered.

Currently, where a trip incurs a cost, this will need to be paid in cash and handed in, along with the permission slip, to a member of the administration team in the office. The letter will outline whether the children need to take a packed lunch. If your child is entitled to free school meals, a sandwich will need to be ordered on the consent form. One will then be made up on the day of the visit.
