welcome to
Lantern Primary and Nursery
A community-based academy, part of the Learning Community Trust.
Thank you for visiting our academy website. Lantern Primary and Nursery has been part of the Learning Community Trust since September 2022. The start of this journey involved significant building work to the exterior of the academy and a complete decoration internally. Both the staff and children are proud to be a part of the Lantern Primary and Nursery family.
We are a small primary school nestled in the village of Ketley Bank and serve a community of wonderful, caring children from nursery age up to year 6. Our committed staff team are friendly, caring and work together to make sure individual needs are met ensuring that ‘every child shines’. We acknowledge the uniqueness of all children and get to know each and every one, along with their families, on a personal level.
Lantern Primary and Nursery is lucky to own extensive grounds with a school field, mini orchard and forest school which the children use when they take their learning into the outdoors. We know our community well and have written a curriculum allowing the children to not only understand the history and geography of the area in which they live but also how to stay safe and be successful citizens both now and later on in their lives.
Our children receive a broad and balanced curriculum which builds upon the skills and knowledge needed in their primary education journey. Interwoven through the curriculum are enrichment opportunities including educational experiences, workshops, visitors into school and chances to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
Our values and expectations are the same and by teaching children that ‘We Respect’, ‘We Care’ and ‘We Persevere’ it will equip them to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour as well as equipping them with the life skills necessary to prepare them for their future.
Everyone is welcomed to the academy with a smile and reflects our positive attitude towards life, learning and relationships. This is an important part of our ethos and permeates through the academy.
Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the administration team to arrange a viewing of the academy or to chat to a member of the team.
